Marcus Morris’s Former Knicks forward accused of writing a bad check; held without bond
Marcus Morris, a longtime NBA player and former New York Knicks forward, was arrested on Sunday in Broward County, Florida. The 35-year-old is currently facing fraud charges and is being held without bond due to an out-of-state warrant.

According to early reports, the warrant stems from an alleged incident involving a bad check. While authorities haven’t shared many details yet, Morris is expected to face legal proceedings in connection with the fraud case.
This isn’t Morris’s first brush with the law. In 2012, he entered a diversion program after being charged with battery for punching a bar employee while watching a Kansas Jayhawks game. In 2015, he and his twin brother, Markieff Morris, were charged with aggravated assault following a fight. Those charges were eventually dropped.
A Look at Morris’s Basketball Career
Marcus Morris has had a long and active career in the NBA. He played for the New York Knicks during the 2019–2020 season, averaging 19.6 points and 5.4 rebounds in 43 games. He was later traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in a deal that sent Moe Harkless to the Knicks.
Since then, Morris has played for several teams, including the Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and, most recently, the Cleveland Cavaliers. He even started a playoff game for the Cavs in 2024, filling in for injured teammates.
